OMG I Signed A Lease!

Recently, I left Mackinac :( and went on a grand road trip out to Huntington Beach, the place I've always wanted to end up. Well, I always wanted to end up in California. I'm not sure if Huntington Beach will be my forever place, but it's a pretty amazing place right now (and, I have my kitten back!) The apartment is pretty amazing! The living room and patio are humongous, making up for the smaller sized rooms. One I'm working on making into the sweetest studio, at least in my opinion. Here are all the before pictures, can't wait to show you all the things I've got cooking. I've had sooo many things in my mind, dreaming of the day when I would finally have a place that I knew I would be in for quite a while. I can't wait til all my ideas come to fruition, and I can't wait to show all of you! Also, it's a five minute bike ride to the beach!
The living room! The screen door is huuuuge, and so is the actual living room. The ceiling are about 8 feet, and the door spans so much of it. The breeze is amazing when it's fully open!

This wall is about 30ish feet long.. Can't wait to paint the coolest mural!
I'm thinking this might be the 'dining area.' It's right off the kitchen and is just screaming for a custom built table (by me).

Love this little nook between a bedroom and the bathroom!

The bathroom! Love the tiles.

And love the big shower/tub!

The best room, aka my soon to be studio!!

Aaaaaaand, the biggest patio I've ever seen for an apartment!

This part is basically bigger than a room, and then it wraps around the apartment, spanning the two bedrooms!

So big! So crazy! Hooray for so much wood building room!

DIY Business Cards

Hiya Papaya! Today on the blog, I'll be showing you my new business cards that I made today! I usually make hexagon ones, but decided to shake it up and make circular cards! I saw the circle cutter at Hobby Lobby on a recent trip and decided that those would be way cooler. Even though I'm still hexagon obsessed. ;) I absolutely love making my own cards. All of them together look so amazingly awesome and creative. This is super easy if you want to start making your own cards! All you need is some rad cardstock, a circle punch and a stamp!

The back of the cards! I love all the different prints.
Step 1: Cut out lots of circles. Like a lot! So many that your wrist might hurt. Then maybe take a nacho break! Yum.

Step two: Stamp those bad boys! It's super fun to stamp. Good way to work out any aggression if you have any.

Step three: Sit back and enjoy your work! And then maybe take a homemade apple pie break. I'm a fan of food breaks. :)

Step three, part two: Admire the pretty side too. :)

And that's it! Easy peasy. If you have any questions, leave me a comment!

The Coolest Place to Have a Jewelry Sale

I was honored to be a part of a fundraiser for the Mackinac Island Community Foundation a little bit ago! One of the best parts was that it was at the Manoogian's home on the West Bluff, named the Pines! The actual best part was donating a nice chunk of change to the Foundation.
Isn't it beautiful?! I got to sell my stuff on the curved room next to the porch on the left. It was named the blue room, and it was ridiculously awesome! I felt like it was fate when I found out that was to be the room I set up in, since blue is my favorite color. ;)
The blue room is cool. I could easily live here. ;)
Just one of a bajillion rooms!
Ain't no view like a West Bluff view.

And now for the most awesome part-the jewelry I made and sold!!
Beach glass I found on Mackinac Island, and Petoskey stones, and one Amethyst bangle.
Can one be in love with Jewelry? I know I am.
How cute is this crab? Had to keep it as decoration.
The full set up! I love seeing everything I've been working on so hard on displayed so beautifully, I must say!
So in love.
Hooray earrings! And rings.

Mackinac Island Sailing School Part Two!

Well, I lived aboard a 52 foot Ketch for a few days again. And it was amazing!  She certainly was yar. ;) It was a bit chilly, but awesome. We even tilted about 35 degrees. A little scary, a lot of fun. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, and I don't want to write thousands of words, enjoy some of my favorites from the trip. :)
What tilt! Love the facial expressions. :)
I love lighthouses.. I'm pretty sure I'm in the right state.
Cool reflections with the compass cover.
The one I got to go in a few months ago!
It's all about dat geometry.
Driving under the bridge! Again.
Being artsy. (One line that controls the jib)
I just couldn't stop taking pictures of this boat. So pretty.

Love this one!
I just love reflections of any kind!
SO MUCH TILT.
Underwater creepiness.
Driving. So amazing!
Tilting at 35 degrees.

Mackinac Winter Dreaming

Recently, I decided to stay another winter on Mackinac. Making this decision was extremely hard. I'm terrible at making decisions, especially semi-big life decisions. ;) But how could I ever leave the island? I'm looking forward to spending another winter here, and it has me dreaming of bonfires, skiing, baking, being very creative, and mainly getting my little kitten back! He turns one tomorrow and I miss him so much!
Back when he was just a lil teeny nugget. :) Also, that backdrop? Yum.

Foggy fort day.
View from Arch Rock! Pretty different view in the winter.

Lovin the East Bluff!

Just out for a beautiful stroll.

I don't know which season I like the Arch in more!

Sunsets are my favorite.

View from the East Bluff!

My little monster loves to go on walks.

One of the watercolor paintings I did in my class this winter! Absolutely love it.
