Mackinac Island Sailing School

Sorry I've been on a bit of a hiatus, but it's because of a very, very good reason. I've been aboard an awesome 52 foot sailboat for the past four days! Here is she, and oh my, isn't she a beauty?! The boat is named the Retriever, and is mainly used for taking the Boy Scouts out to teach them sailing. My great friend started a sailing school on the island, for the island kiddos, and I was able to go as an adult leader! It was an AMAZING experience and definitely something I'll never forget. Here's just a few Iphone pictures; the real ones on my SLR are uploading now and I can't wait to look through those and share them with you guys!

So absolutely awesome!
The second night we slept on the deck; it was perfect. The weather was warm, the stars were out, there was a lightning storm to watch quite a bit of miles away, and the bugs stayed away. :)
A beautiful sunset in the Mackinac Island marina. Our boat is the tallest one on the end! How snazzy!
Waking up day four; I slept on the aft deck (look at me and all the sailing terms I learned;). The sunrise was indescribable.

We managed to squeeze a few more on the deck for our last night! All the kids but one came out, and the other adult leader was on the bench with the blue pillow but woke up a bit earlier than me. Hey, I still woke up to watch the sunrise; it's crazy how early he woke up!
I love reflections.

Beach Glass Bangles

Okay, there's a total overload of pictures! I apologize in advance but it was just wayyy to hard to pick just a couple, so enjoy the plethora of pictures (huzzah for alliterations)! I promised I would show what I've been making from all my hunting, and here we are. I am absolutely loving all of these beach glass jewelry pieces I have been making lately! I'm working on some earrings right now and not to brag too much, but I think they're pretty sweet too. Stay tuned for those.

Not a Bad Office Space Today

Just call me a pirate, because I spent the day hunting for treasure. ;) Okay, my version of treasure might be a little different than yours, but it was still an awesome day. I spent the day near British Landing. If you're going all the way around the island, it's kind of the halfway point! This is one of my prime beach hunting spots, and also my favorite place to get milkshakes and deep fried pickles (I know it's a weird combo, but so so yummy). These two delicious things are served at Cannonball, a yummy little walk up place that's worth the four mile bike ride if you want a snack.

I'll post some pictures later of what I'm making of these findings-I have some fantastic ideas for all my treasure.

So gorgeous. Sometimes I just stop hunting and feel the need to take a lot of beach pictures.
Feeling the love. :)
What a good haul!
As far as offices go, this one isn't that bad!

I Love Boat Cruises!

One of my favorite things about the island is the easy access to so many boats. :) I recently went on a Miller Lite cruise aboard an Arnold Line boat. We got to go on their big boat, and the weather was PERFECT. I pretty much stayed on the open dock the whole evening, except when I was driving the boat (:O!!) or below deck for drinks or snacks. The boat went under the bridge, where we took a million cool pictures, and then circled around it, and took even more fantastic pictures, I must say. Big thanks to Miller Lite and Arnold Ferry, it was an amazing night!

One of my favorites from the night. I just love the composition!
My other favorite from the evening. My composition was on fire that night.
My good friend Alex and I at the dock. :)

Mighty Mac!
Driving the boat!!! Be jealous. I got to drive for quite a while.
Justin and I! The coolest park ranger around.
Going for that windblown look. :)
